Maija DiSalvo
TREASURER
Maija grew up in the Northwoods of Wisconsin, received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, spent seven years living along the Columbia River Gorge in Washington state, and has been in the Mat-Su Valley since December of 2021. With a love of wandering through the woods, learning about the local flora and fauna, and going on grand adventures, Alaska is a natural fit.
After spending years involved with Ground, Swiftwater, and K9 Search & Rescue, Maija’s passion for community involvement drew her towards a meaningful and intentional career shift working as a Planner for the the Planning & Land Use Division of the Mat-Su Borough. Her role as Treasurer of the AWG 2024 Host Society has been complimentary, with a history in organizational and administrative roles, the Borough’s involvement in planning for the games, and her excitement to host such an incredible cultural and sporting event in a truly magical place. Maija strives to create riveting financial reports that make managing money fun for the whole team.
Outside of work, Maija enjoys hiking, discovering new places to fish, camping off the beaten path, growing and preserving food, and whitewater kayaking. She hopes to never stop learning new skills and exploring wild places with her partner and three dogs.
