Our International Committee
The Arctic Winter Games International Committee (AWGIC) acts as the steward of the Games. This governing body promotes the values symbolized by the Games' three interlocking rings, which represent athletic competition, cultural exhibition, and social interchange. Dedicated to the continued success of AWG, the Committee oversees the preparation of the Host Society and guides the technical and cultural integrity of the Games.
The Arctic Winter Games provides amateur athletes in the Circumpolar North with an incredible opportunity for competition on an international level. At AWG, athletes experience cultural understanding and expression and are exposed to extensive media they may not otherwise be exposed to in their sport, all while building relationships with athletes from around the world. This approach nurtures and protects the extraordinary impact of the Arctic Winter Games, on athletes, host communities, and the northern regions.
